Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP visits Harvey Nash Group to discuss new ways of working and digital skills

Bev White, CEO of Harvey Nash Group, was delighted to welcome the Chair of the House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee, Stephen Timms MP to our new London office on 25 February 2022.

Bev talked with Mr Timms about the ways in which Harvey Nash Group’s global insight into emerging and growing digital skills needs can help policymakers support the development of these skills in the UK.

Mr Timms also met Jackie Chapman, Fergal Kilroy and Hana Abdi from 01Founders who shared how their software engineering school is making digital skills available to a much broader range of people.

Mr Timms was also given a tour of the new office and he spoke to colleagues about technology skills and how the pandemic had resulted in new ways of working using digital technology.

Bev White said: ‘It was a pleasure meeting Stephen Timms in person and welcoming him to our new London office. It was a wonderful opportunity to talk in more detail about the Group’s work to boost digital skills in the UK.’
Stephen Timms MP said: ‘I really enjoyed talking with Bev and the Harvey Nash Group team about emerging digital skills and the new ways of working they facilitate. Digital skills have moved from being an advantage to being a necessity during the pandemic and I am encouraged by Harvey Nash Group’s work to highlight the importance of developing digital skills in the UK.’

Mr Timms has been the Member of Parliament for East Ham (formerly Newham North East) since 1994 and he has served as the Chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee since January 2020. Mr Timms held a number of roles in government including Chief Secretary to the Treasury and the Minister responsible for Digital Britain.
