Guest Blog: Scott Abney, SVP Sales, NashTech
Originally from Houston, Texas I moved to Michigan in 2007. I moved here after meeting my wife Desiree who has spent most of her life in the Great Lakes.
I am not a fan of cold Michigan winters but the golf in spring/summer is fantastic and I try to spend most of my free time on a local course. Desiree and I have 3 daughters between us and wait for it……….10 grandkids!
We are fortunate to have the entire family within a 25 mile radius so we get to spend time with them on a regular basis. During the pandemic period we really appreciated having everyone so close.
I have been with NashTech for 7 weeks now. Drinking from the firehose is an understatement and every day I learn a little more about this organization and the tremendous opportunity in front of us.
At a high level my role is to focus on accelerating revenue and bringing in new clients for the US, UK and European markets. I am going to leverage our customer-first attitude, the NashTech culture, and the passion I see from so many employees to make that happen.
Reach Out is the Harvey Nash Group global theme for this year and I plan on doing exactly that. After being locked down for the past couple of years, I plan on reaching out to my network across the globe to reconnect, maybe get some face time, and to definitely talk about all the great things that Harvey Nash Group and NashTech are doing in the market.
I have already started to "reach out" to my Group colleagues to discuss how we can introduce the NashTech portfolio to the wider customer base. I plan on "reaching out" and visiting the Vietnam team in the next couple of months.
With all of my global travels over the years, Vietnam has been on my destination bucket-list and I can't wait to travel there and meet the teams in person.
I want to thank everyone from Harvey Nash Group and the NashTech team for the warm welcome during my first few weeks on the job. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together over the next 12 months!
