Proud

I was at the UK REC awards last night. REC is the UK’s official governing body for the recruitment sector, and its annual awards are a high point in recognition in the industry. We had been shortlisted for no less than 6 awards and won Best Company to Work For (over 50 employees).

It was a fantastic achievement, and I couldn’t help thinking – as I looked around the room that had people from so many recruitment companies – how proud I am to be part of Harvey Nash Group. How we are genuinely a bit different. And how our values really stand out: Open, human, hungry, collaborative, entrepreneurial. Oh, and one more: fun (to be with!)

Digital

We launched our Digital Leaders Report with a splash.

It gave me goose bumps as the studio came together in our Heron Tower London office and our very own Dave Savage hosted a panel of six incredible digital leaders and brought our report to life to an audience spanning 30 Countries and a live audience in the studio.

The sheer volume of work to design, launch and analyse the mass of data made all this possible. Since then we have been interviewed many times, spoken at events and even been on TV with Sky news.

Inspired

This has been in a variety of ways. Spending time in Scotland with our colleagues in Glasgow and Edinburgh left me smiling for days. High energy, dedicated to clients and candidates, supportive of each other, contributing to helping the communities we work in.

This is something I see everywhere I go in the Harvey Nash Group, in all our brands. Just remarkable.

I’ve also been inspired by spending time with the Global Leadership team last week. Knowing we have the best leaders in the Industry is a fantastic feeling.

Strategic

The work leading up the launch of HNG 2.0 was forwarding looking, setting out our Purpose, our Vision and our Values.

Creating the strength of a shared platform of what binds us, of why future colleagues would join us, why colleagues stay and grow their careers is powerful. What clients, candidates and contractors can expect from us is crystal clear and how we can help them beyond what they know us for today gives us a future which is hard to compare other companies against.

We are unique in our space, it’s almost impossible to find a Group that is ‘just like us’ in what they do.

Hard-work

It’s been hard going for everyone this year. With the skills shortages and investment in tech across the world it’s been as hard to find great people to join us as well help our clients with the talent and technology challenges.

Taking a break is important for us all no matter how busy we find ourselves. I know I appreciate dipping in to the Wellbeing Hub from time to time to get some help. I so appreciate what great work everyone is doing and the results of this are clear to see.

So, as another weekend comes towards us I wish you time to rest and recuperate. Keep safe and well.
