Our first steps into 2021
What a start to the calendar year. The Covid-19 pandemic still challenges many of us in the way we go about our lives.
Parents with school age children have become teachers once more. Many families living in the communities in which we work do not have the resources to own laptops or tablets and so many children are unable to log on to classes and connect with their classmates.
In some small way we want to help. Our IT colleagues are looking into the cupboards and finding older laptops and preparing them in the coming days ahead to be wiped clean and handed to charities who will get them to the families who are in need of help for their children.
The vaccines have begun to be deployed around the world, with millions of older and vulnerable people receiving their first injections. There is hope. Yet, in the northern hemisphere with the darker days, poor weather and the continued lockdowns it is hard for many, myself included some days, to hold on to the belief that this too will pass and we will have better, happier days again.
What sustains me and I hope you too, is that conviction that we are not alone, colleagues support each other day to day in so many ways and I see so many acts of pure kindness.
Around the businesses we have said farewell to some colleagues and thank them for their legacy. We also say welcome to new colleagues, I know you will give them a warm Harvey Nash Group welcome. Its not easy moving companies especially in a pandemic so I am sure we will do all we can to onboard them even in a remote way for now.
We have so much to be proud of in the Harvey Nash Group and its brands around the world. We have a strong legacy of being experts in our field with a focus on high quality partnering.
Now more than ever it is time to place our focus on the markets we operate in, acquiring market share and delighting our clients, candidates and contractors. In my opinion, a Harvey Nash Group company should always be on the short list, no question.
So, as we work through the final days of the current financial year, join me in reflecting back on all that we have achieved, the challenges we have overcome, the many things we have learnt together. We are a strong group of businesses and we are set now to go confidently into the new year.
Before I go, I promised I would introduce my new golden retriever puppy Enzo. Many of us in the Harvey Nash Group family have welcomed new pets into our lives in the past year, thanks for sharing the many photos and stories of your new adventures.
Enzo has been with me now for 4 weeks and today he is 4 months old. He is exploring his world, learning new things every day. He is calm yet endlessly curious. Every day he seems to grow. Here he is.
Wishing you a good weekend. Keep safe and well.
